We're Elena (or Eli) Belyea and Tori Morrison! Together, we make Tiny Bear Jaws.  Founded in 2015, Tiny Bear Jaws is an agile, femme and queer-run cross-Canadian theatre company (unlike many companies, we produce work in many cities all over Turtle Island.) We make innovative, provocative, and engaging new works. 🎭 We love experimenting with technology and seeing how design can influence story.  We believe two heads are better than one and are passionate  about accessibility and facilitating processes that prioritize people over product. We've had over 85 shows in 5 cities (including Edmonton, Calgary, Montreal, and Toronto) and worked with over 150 artists across Canada. <img src="https://images.squarespace-cdn.com/content/v1/58b72e988419c2a168e41413/1626989057701-XZN29SINFZK8I93RH42T/who+are+we+%281%29.png?format=2500w"> WHAT ARE WE MAKING? We make theatre that’s transgressive in content and form: from our site-specific Everyone We Know Will Be There: A House Party in One Act (a site-specific play with multiple main characters which took place in a residential house) to Cleave (one of the first main stage, multi-character shows in Edmonton to feature a trans actor in a leading role) to our award-winning Miss Katelyn’s Grade Threes Prepare for the Inevitable (an elementary school teacher instructs her class, played by the audience, how to survive a school shooting). We also produce queer sketch comedy troupe <a href="https://instagram.com/genderihardlyknowthem">Gender? I Hardly Know Them</a>’s live shows. ⚡️ As of 2021, we in the process of planning our 2021-2024 seasons. We have a bunch of really exciting stuff in the works, a lot of which we can't announce quite yet (soon! So soon!) but we have a premiere productions, national tour, and a new mentorship program in the works.  And here's the thing: If you become one of our patrons, you'll be the first to know about it. <img src="https://images.squarespace-cdn.com/content/v1/58b72e988419c2a168e41413/1626989064008-173H817A1MIHVKW76BVJ/who+are+we+%282%29.png?format=2500w"> WHERE DOES MY MONEY GO?  Tiny Bear Jaws is an ad hoc theatre company (we're not a charity or not-for-profit), which means we're only able to apply for project-based (as opposed to operational) grants and funding. This means that the two of us often take on unpaid creation and admin work, not totally sure we'll be able to pay ourselves for it. (We've definitely been getting better about this in recent years, but we'd be lying if we said money was never an issue).  The donations we get from our Patreon are a VITAL part of keeping Tiny Bear Jaws up and running. On top of helping to pay each of us an honorarium each month, it also serves as a kind of nest egg. In moments where we've needed a few extra hundred dollars to pay for an unexpected artist fee, or rehearsal space, or website renewal, our Patreon donors made it so we didn't have to dig into our own pockets to cover those extra costs. This is a seriously huge deal for us and makes running an indie theatre by ourselves that much more sustainable.  <img src="https://images.squarespace-cdn.com/content/v1/58b72e988419c2a168e41413/1626990274932-X509P4O1BVEJ9JZEM9H0/who+are+we+%284%29.png?format=2500w"> HOW DOES PLEDGING WORK?
