Workshop Presentation of "The Worst Thing I Could Be (Is Happy)" - Montreal

TINY BEAR JAWS’
WORKSHOP PRESENTATION OF
”THE WORST THING I COULD BE (IS HAPPY)”

The Worst Thing I Could Be (Is Happy) is an interdisciplinary devised creation about the ways in which happiness “[keeps] its place as a wish by its failure to be given” (Sarah Ahmed, The Promise of Happiness). Home videos, memes, social media, and smart neighborhoods collide in this ever-evolving piece about grief, queerness, capitalism, jouissance, and the internet.

Developed as part of Theatre Junction Grand’s TJ Lab Residency Program (November 2017) and the Buddies in Bad Times’ Rhubarb Festival (February 2018), this roughly 75-minute presentation follows a month-long development period at the Diving Bell Social Club in Montreal (April 2019).

You are invited to join us after the piece and share your thoughts.
